To support knowledge creation, we need to support interactive interfaces that enable users to share their thoughts about the content and relationships they discover. We need to support the scaffolding of new knowledge as users interact with our content and with each other about our content. We need to think in 3D about engagement in the digital space.

With the article rental service DeepDyve in business since 2009 and more options coming online for libraries to provide quick access to journal articles without subscribing to them, is there a need for an overview webinar about current developments in journal article access and their implications for libraries?

PDA and PPV remain as popular topics at recent ER&L and NASIG conferences. Lisa Kurt and Erin Fisher at University of Nevada, Reno did a presentation at ER&L 2011 -- i.e., PDA/PPV models created out of financial necessity, criteria for PDA vs. PPV, catalog workflow, vendor models.

As scholars are increasing using Web 2.0 tools like CiteULike, Mendeley, Twitter, and blogs there is an opportunity to create new filters.These metrics show web-based traces of research communication like
citations from social networlking links, press coverage, comments, etc.

Recent talks by Oren Beit-Arie have reminded me that the current discovery service landscape (specifically that of information providers in centrally-indexed search products) is very similar to the first years of participation in OpenURL. Maybe a webinar that could look at the current state of discovery services and remind people that, according to previous examples, it WILL change.

There is a lot of new app development of augmented reality functionality. There is a markup for cultural heritage content. This was discussed during WebWise, I've written about it in Against the Grain. Also, there is a series of AR meetings

• Copyright (UCLA made BBC Shakespeare series available online to students without paying additional fees over original purchase. Sued/judge decided in favor of UCLA but is being appealed)

Create a forum and wiki space for sharing linked data projects, perhaps piggy backing on the OpenBiblioProject list or Code4Lib. Track what syntax/vocabularies are in use.

Many publishers are adding mobile options to their resources, either through an app, site optimization or other means. How are libraries managing the various options now available for their users?

Determine answers to questions around users:

Who are they? How can they and their input be measured? Privacy issues. "Hit and run" versus regular users. Open use cases, etc.

How can users be empowered to create or contribute to bibliographic data?
